Creating a New Future

Our last post on our old site www.knightsmsa.blogspot.com announced that the Founding Father's were taking a much needed summer sabbatical away from the blogging world and use the down time to brainstorm a new approach for our Merry Band of Knights and Ladies.

First, we decided that the use of the word Moleskine was limiting our potential for expansion. Of course, the Founding Fathers will continue to journal, doodle and otherwise express themselves on that fine written platform; however, the real Spirit of the Knights is one of Creation! Creation is incorporated into our ideals: "We are free to create without judgement"

Therefore, we have changed our name to the Knights of Creation Spirit and Ale. We still embody the ideals of Thinking, Drinking and Being Merry...but now we are challenging ourselves, as well as others, to embrace Creating through the whole process.

Create or Die. The challenge is to choose wisely...to choose to Create...which many times can be a deadly enterprise. By embracing the true freedom of our ideals, we must also embrace the freedom from fear. Fear often accompanies one who is about to create, which often keeps them from pursuing the creation and their dreams. So, FEAR NOT!!!

Speaking of Freedom from Fear...when we took our break in May there was still Hope in the world...now...we are surrendering our very foundation to the fear mongers of this world, especially in American Politics.

It's time for the Knights and their voice of reason to rise up and challenge the mindless minions that would bring our country one step closer to the closed, fearful, fundamental abyss that more closely resembles Iran than America. But that's the subject of another blog.

Remember...we become stronger as individuals and a collective when we embrace the ideal of Unity through Diversity.

Finally, it takes more than three outstanding gents, ie, the Founding Fathers, to make this dream possible. We are asking...neigh...begging for others to contribute to our cause by posting on this blog, friending us on Facebook and spreading the KCSA Gospel.

We have decided to utilize Facebook to gain more members and to provide a forum for pictures, videos, works of art, etc. to be displayed by our members. So, Like Us and join us on Facebook and send it to your friends too! The More...The Merrier!

KMSA Turns 3!

Today is a proud day for this Founding Father...for today is the third Anniversary of our Merry Band of Ladies and Knights...and "Founders Day" on the official Feast Calendar of the Knights of Moleskine, Spirit and Ale!

Little did Sir Bowie and I realize how the seeds sown on this day in the bar at Old Chicago in Evansville would have grown into the international phenom we have today.

And, just a few months later, I would meet Sir Dayvd of Oxfordshire at McGrath's in Harrisburg, PA...who would later earn the title of Honorary Founding Father, and design our Coat of Arms and add so much to what we had hoped to accomplish on this day three years ago!

By the end of this year we will have published our 1,000th Post!

Last July, we traveled across the pond for our first International Council. Today, we are on the cusp of adding a Spanish Chapter, when Sir Richard the Lionheart of Beaver Creek crossed the pond just few months ago and got the locals in Madrid and the surrounding countryside enthused about our Merry Band! Sir Richard will be uploading posts on that incredible adventure, which we can't wait to read and to welcome our Spanish brother in arms!

So, today on our third anniversary...the three Founding Fathers...wish you well as you explore our three tenants of the KMSA....THINK...DRINK...BE MERRY!

Yoga Master Speaks

Recently, having taken jabs from Sir Dayvd about doing Yoga, I decided to borrow elements of Sir Bowie's post on FreakingNews.com, and expand on the theme of a T-Shirt that Lady A bought me called "Irish Yoga". I would like to share with you the deep mysteries that I, Yoga Master Sir Hook of Warrick, have discovered by thinking, drinking and being merry while doing Yoga.

Nothing original here, just preexisting elements rearranged into a new concoction...much like a bartender mixing a new drink...or the creative process in general.

Speaking of creative drinking...my recent research confirms that Drinking to Excess can lead to the same benefits of doing Yoga, as I will now share with you!

SAVASANA

Position of total relaxation.

BALASANA

Position that brings the sensation of peace and calm.

SETU BANDHA SARVANGASANA

This position calms the brain and heals tired legs.

MARJAYASANA

Position stimulates the midriff area and the spinal column.

HALASANA

Excellent for back pain and insomnia.

DOLPHIN

Excellent for the shoulder area, thorax, legs and arms.

SALAMBHASANA

Great exercise to stimulate the lumbar area, legs and arms.

ANANDA BALASANA

This position is great for massaging the hip area.

PIGEON

Tones the body, and builds flexibility and helps get rid of stress.

So, there you have the results of 3 Yoga sessions and Daily Bar Hopping every week. Remember to Think, Drink, Be Merry and DO YOGA!

The Coffee Filter & Thinking, Drinking and Being Merry

In recovering from yet another road trip, this time back to St. Louis to watch my Cardinals knock the Padres back to their cloisters, I find it practical to share these practical applications of the common Coffee Filter.

Being practical is part of Thinking! Having coffee is part of Drinking! Saving money is part of Being Merry!

I would like to thank Sir Richard who sent this email to me while on the road.

COFFEE FILTERS

1. Coffee filters make excellent covers. Cover bowls and dishes when cooking in the microwave.

2. Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling.

3. Protect China. Separate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish.

4. Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter.

5. Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust.

6. Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

7. Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter.

8. Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale.

9. Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

10. Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes.

11. Prevent a Popsicle from dripping. Poke one or two holes as needed in a coffee filter.

12. Do you think we used expensive strips to wax eyebrows? Use strips of coffee filters.

13. Put a few in a plate and put your fried bacon, French fries, chicken fingers, etc. on them. They soak out all the grease.

14. Keep in the bathroom. They make great "razor nick fixers."

I'm heading down to the Dollar Store, or if I was back in England a Poundland, to buy some today.
