Eli's Coming!

No better script has been written since the story of David and Goliath. Yes, the sling shot that killed Goliath was a floating pass from Eli to Burris to end the dark side's dominance of America's game. There is one thing us Americans love more than a winner, an underdog winner! Yes, Eli is coming, and you can be sure that brother Peyton is not far behind, not to mention all the ads featuring the two of them. Now, perhaps we can talk about something else besides how brilliant the Patriots...WHERE! 5 Seed, Wild Card, 11 straight road wins, defeating the undefeated and keeping the '72 Dolphins in Champagne...it doesn't get much better than this. Well, sure it does if the Colts had won, but I digress. The moral of this story for the Knights of Moleskine, Spirit and Ale...Always Believe In Yourself and Never Give Up!

Cheers to the Giants and Don Shula's Boys,
Sir Hook of Warrick

In this case, I'm going to have to recognize our diversity. Being a Washington Redskin fan most of my life, I cannot in good conscience toast the frickin' Dolphins.

Having said that, I do recognize the greatness that is Evansville native Bob Griese.

    From Hall of Fame Website:
Bob Griese, a two-time All-America at Purdue, was the Dolphins' No. 1 draft choice in their second year in 1967. He enjoyed an excellent rookie season with 2,005 yards and 15 touchdowns passing and, for the remainder of his Hall of Fame career, he was the poised leader of a classic ball-control offense that generated an awesomely efficient running attack, three AFC championships in 1971, 1972 and 1973 and victories in Super Bowls VII and VIII.
