I find it interesting that there are three words for being drunk. Are they for different degrees of inebriation? The best we could do would be "drunk" or "drunk as hell/shit". I also find it interesting that the same derivative for sex is also used for being tired. Which comes first? No pun intended! Of course we'll have to differ to Sir Davyd of Oxfordshire, our resident English Pub Professor as to the accuracy of the above list. Lesson #2 will be even more enlightening.

  1. No more fanny around. I know you'll think I'm off the trolley, but the goal is for Lady Suzanne and I to take a holiday for at least a fortnight to Sir Dayvd's postcode and hope we don't end up in the casualty department or doing porridge because we got too cack-handed pissed, ratted, and wankered.

  2. This is sooo funny....its weird looking at your own language written down and compared to the US one..

I travel to the USA so often now...that i have become very Mid Atlantic with my speech patterns..where i have adopted a whole load of American phrases naturally into my speech.

But yes that list is accurate..and in fact there is loads more to add to that.... especially the drunken one....we have dozens of words for being drunk....some rhyming slang etc.. I will cut and paste that blog at some stage soon and add more to the list so you will have the complete version to impress your friends with...especially when watching bad hollywood movies which increasingly english people are being used in.

A further note on which i must add.....i do apologise for any recent english actors and actresses that have come over. I have seen what they have eventually done on the screen when they do come...and it makes my hair stand on end. Believe me it is is nothing like we are over here... ( mainly the accents )
I highlight 3 of the worst : The black english guy in Oceans 11 (?) ( truly truly bad ) anything with Vinnie Jones in ( gone in 60 seonds....Lock Stock and barrel etc ) and daphne in the sit com Fraser...and her brothers in the show who are truly bad. ) Also Ignore "Little Britain"... the first series in the UK of these guys was subtle and funny...now in the 4th series being shown in the staes they are truly vile and no longer funny.

If you want to know our humour think no further than Monty Python.

I'm sure i will have more i can apologise for.

Hugh Grant ..is not tooo bad.... ricky gervais...okay... Minnie Driver Okay... Antony Hopkins ..great......
